PostSubject: Sony Vegas mask edit? [FIXED]   Sat Nov 22, 2014 4:48 pm

Okay, so I have no idea what this effect is called and that's why the topics name is so weird.
But fx in this vid at 0:3 there is this effect where the video slowly gets smaller and smaller(or bigger and bigger).

I've tried so many things in sv by now and I'm so desperate o:
I hope any of you guys can help me out! (and that I'm not too confusing)

I believe it is Cookie Cutter that it used in that video ^^ That, or just a black border. That can be easily done by putting a solid black clip on top of the scene, and then move it until you have the size you would like to have on the border:)

You can just go to the pan/crop section of the footage and edit the height to give those little black bars. To make them move, later on in the footage just increase or decrease the height whichever you want! (ex. frame 1 you set the height at 720 but on frame seven you set the height at 920) Automatically, the program will adjust to the height and give it that effect ^^ The thing is you have to make sure that when you open the pan/crop box, you unclick the button on the toolbar on the left which says maintain aspect ratio. If you don't, you'll just be zooming the footage in.

Sorry if it's wordy! If you still don't understand I'm sure there is a tutorial where it explains it better Very Happy
